Fresh Meat Wagon is a piece that I had in my head for a long time and is the first proper screen print that I made in the studio post lockdown (part 1).
I had the idea a couple of years ago to create a butchers shop that only sold meat wagons (in print form) and this design was going to be the box that the products came in. There is still time for this but at the moment, due to the global fuck ups, this isn’t a practical business plan.
Over the years I have hand printed a good few art works on corrugated cardboard to varying degrees of success. Cardboard moves and bends in ways that paper doesn’t do so screen printing on it can be a bit hit and miss.
For this piece I bought a load of ready cut to size A3 corrugated cardboard and set to hand printing a fuck load of this design.
Some of them turned out good and some… well they will end up pasted about the exotic streets of Belfast.
Each Fresh Meat Wagon is numbered and signed and comes with a cheeky wee sticker on the reverse side.
Fresh Meat Wagon is an edition of 50.
This piece is posted flat in a screen printed envelope and comes loaded with some extra bit n bobs over the xmas period.
